(Las Vegas, NV) – Competing teams from around the nation will come together this week to face off in the inaugural Bacon World Championship, part of the elite annual World Food Championships in Las Vegas, Nov. 7 – 10th.

Selected from the biggest and best food competitions around the nation, bacon teams will compete in the BWC first round, Thursday, Nov. 7th, where the Top 10 will be decided. These 10 teams will match their finest bacon culinary creations in the final round on Saturday, Nov. 9th to crown the best in all of bacondom, the 2013 Bacon World Champion. This winner will then compete against the winners from six other food categories on Sunday, Nov. 10th at the “Final Table” to fight for the ultimate title of 2013 World Food Champion.

In keeping with its reputation as the bigger, better fan favorite, the makers of Wright® Brand Bacon are sweetening the pot by putting out the best spread in Vegas for die-hard bacon lovers at the event: the Ultimate Bacon Experience. Fans can buy tickets for one of two sessions (1:00 – 3:00 p.m. or 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.) on Saturday, Nov. 9, and gain access to open sampling of more savory and delectable bacon creations than even the biggest, best bacon fan can imagine!

This year’s Bacon World Championship is the culmination of invited sponsor Wright® Brand Bacon’s Destination: BACON DOMINATION, a partnership with the Kansas City Barbecue Society to find the best competitors from across the U.S. and bring them together for the chance to earn the coveted title of Bacon World Champion.
